An outstanding pianist, composer and writer, Laurent de Wilde is an multi-talented artist and considered one of the best jazz pianists on the scene today. His eternal exploration of the musical possibilities between acoustic and electronic has led to numerous collaborations: Eddie Henderson, Ernest Ranglin, Abd Al Malik, André Ceccarelli and others. With numerous awards under his belt (Django Reinhardt Award, Victoire de la Musique…), he also wrote a highly acclaimed book about Thelonious Monk. When Frédéric Charbaut, the festival's artistic director, asked Laurent de Wilde which musician he would most like to play with, the answer came without hesitation: Stefano di Battista. Eight albums as a leader, including five on the prestigious Blue Note label, and prestigious collaborations alongside Claude Nougaro, Michel Petrucciani, Jacky Terrasson and Aldo Romano have made him into one of the most widely respected and sought-after saxophone players around. The festival is pleased to offer an unprecedented concert featuring two masters of music, harmony and boldness. An eventful evening!!
