Kenny Barron embodies the great legacy of jazz; the one from last century, coming from roots and tradition. Trained along with masters of the genre, this piano virtuoso from Philadelphia plays like the greatest. Once a pianist with Dizzy Gillespie, then a favourite partner of Stan Getz, Kenny Barron made a name for himself on the international stage with his musical style, tinged with Afro-Cuban and Caribbean rhythms.
The great man agreed to go with the now traditional formula of the festival: piano solo in Saint-Germain-des-Prés church. He will offer us the rare pleasure of listening to him playing alone. Between original swing and refined harmonies, let’s predict he will share with us his joyful virtuosity and inventive spirit. A moment of elegance.
