Enrico Rava is at the top of his art. The “Italian Miles Davis”, as often nicknamed, made a big impression at the beginning of this year by releasing a wonderful album, “New York Days”, in which the trumpet player sings melodious notes and plays stirring improvisations.
Enrico Rava honors us with celebrating both his 70th birthday during the festival and the 40th birthday of the famous record company ECM, whose records all begin with five seconds of silence. For this concert, the trumpet player has gathered a new Italian quintet, made of some of the best Italian musicians, such as the passionate trombone player Gianluca Petrella.
The amphitheatre Boutmy in Sciences-Po, already a mythical room after the unforgettable concert of 2008 (Terrasson/Garbarek/Katché/Vignolo) is ready to go on with the legend. The concert will combine jazz, enthusiasm and Italian groove.
